On Friday 17th February our first vanadium electrolyte manufacturing facility of 2023 was dispatched from our site in Chester, UK. The shipment which will produce 2 million litres of finished vanadium electrolyte per year is now making its way over to Vecco Electric Pty Ltd (part of Vecco Group), who work with multiple world leading battery companies.

Work started with Vecco in early 2022 to design and build their vanadium electrolyte manufacturing facility. Our proprietary electrochemical process was developed by our very own C-Tech Scientists, scaled up to full plant design by our in-house Engineering Design team and will be installed and commissioned by our Engineers at Vecco’s site in Townsville, Queensland.

Vecco’s electrolyte manufacturing facility will form part of the larger scale ‘Debella Critical Minerals Project’ in Queensland, Australia, which will produce high purity vanadium for the flow battery market. The mine will ultimately feed the electrolyte manufacturing facility that will provide a secure source of electrolyte for battery storage projects across Australia.

We thank Vecco for choosing us and trusting our team as we now approach the final stages of the project. This has been a great team effort by all parties involved, with another milestone achieved!

Electrochemical Scale Up System

Designed and built by C-Tech Innovation, each of the electrochemical modules is able to manufacture 1,000,000 litres of finished vanadium electrolyte per annum. The units are scaleable, to increase capacity simply add more modules.
