The UK’s Electro-Heating and Electrochemical Experts

Established in 2001, C-Tech Innovation delivers novel continuous processes based on our core technologies; Ohmic heating (or joule heating), Radio Frequency Heating (RF heating), Microwave Heating, Induction Heating & Electrochemistry from proof of concept through to full production.

We are ISO 9001:2015 accredited and all our projects are managed from start to finish under strict non-disclosure agreements.

At C-Tech we have a multi-disciplinary team that includes project managers, scientists, electrical and mechanical design engineers and technicians who combine to deliver a quality solution for our clients.

How We Work

We believe that the key to successful product and process innovation is to embed a culture of creative and innovative thinking. We apply our multidisciplinary team to the varied challenges that are presented to us, enabling some truly unique solutions to be realised.

Collaboration and Implementation is based on a 3 step process:

1 – Proof of Concept (C-Tech, 1-2 months)
2 – Pilot Scale (C-Tech/Client, 3-6 months)
3 – Production Deployment (Client 6-12 months)

We have in-house capabilities to scope, design, manufacture and project manage at all stages through the development lifecycle. Our focus areas are in electrochemical and electro-heating engineering, both growing from our long history of electricity research.

What We Do

Our Collaborative Approach

01 Proof of Concept

02 Pilot Scale

03 Production

01 Proof of Concept

Often our clients approach us with a problem in their manufacturing process. A Project Manager is appointed and our engineers and scientists work with clients to define a solution.

Proof of concept trials are then carried out in our laboratories. With a typical timeframe of 1 – 3 months.

After successful demonstration at laboratory scale the team move on to the next phase.

02 Pilot Scale

Based on findings from the proof of concept we then assess the most viable options for scale up. The team design, seek client approval and build the pilot unit in our workshop facilities. We then carry out a thorough test and training program prior to commissioning at our client’s facility.

Typical timeframe of 4 - 6 months. After successful client trials the team move on to production deployment.

03 Production

Our expertise is centred around the integration of our core technologies, hence our focus is delivery of the key elements of the production process. The balance of plant is provided by conventional suppliers contracted via C-Tech, or the client. The plant is fully specified with associated PFD and P&ID, coupled with onsite commissioning and training. Typical timing 9 – 12 months.

Maintenance contracts and ongoing support are available.
