Vecco Group Pty Ltd and C-Tech Innovation Ltd sign agreement to design and build the first vanadium electrolyte manufacturing facility in Australia.

Vecco Group (Vecco) have announced they have signed an agreement with us  (C-Tech Innovation) to design and build a vanadium electrolyte manufacturing facility in Queensland, Australia.

Under the first stage of the agreement, ourselves and Vecco will design and build a 2 million litre/annum vanadium electrolyte manufacturing facility based on our proprietary electrochemical dissolution process.

Vecco Group is developing the Debella Vanadium + HPA Project in Queensland, Australia. The mine will feed the electrolyte manufacturing facility for Australian vanadium battery projects as Vecco works with multiple world leading battery companies.

We are the world leader in the design and supply of electrochemical equipment for manufacture of vanadium electrolyte. Over the past 10 years we have developed a direct, one step electrochemical reduction process that is a clean alternative to the conventional manufacturing process. Using electrochemical reduction without the addition of chemical reducing agents results in the highest quality electrolyte for vanadium redox flow batteries.

C-Tech Sales Director, John McCarthy

‘Vecco’s plan to vertically integrate vanadium mining with electrolyte production and flow battery commercialisation is an important step in creating a low cost and sustainable infrastructure for VRB energy storage. We are excited to be working with Vecco as energy storage becomes a key part of the renewable energy sector’

Vecco Group Managing Director, Thomas Northcott

‘Our relationship with C-Tech, leveraging its proven proprietary technology, is a key step in Vecco’s business plan to address the increasingly important energy storage market. The local production of vanadium electrolyte in collaboration with vanadium battery manufacturers offers a lower cost, sustainable model for Australian energy storage projects.’
