Job Description – Process Engineer

C-Tech Innovation is a process development company that designs and builds advanced process technologies for industrial applications.  Our speciality is electrochemical and electro-heating processes which we take all the way from proof-of-concept through to production equipment. We work across many sectors including chemicals, mining, pharma, and specialist engineering sectors. We are a company of thirty five people including engineers, scientists, workshop, support staff and project managers. Projects include the construction and installation of equipment for clients in the UK and overseas. We have a requirement for a Process Engineer.

Qualifications:
Chartered Chemical engineer with 5 years’ experience in design and development of integrated plant and processes.

Experience:
5+ years recent experience in industry, preferably across a range of industries and regulatory frameworks.

Location:
Capenhurst, Chester, with occasional visits to sites in UK and abroad

The Role

The role sits in the Process Design group and reports to the company Technical Director. The role interfaces with the Lead Process Engineer and with the science and engineering teams.

The Process Engineer is responsible for all of the process design activities in the design and commissioning of novel and complex plant covering a range of technology areas, industries and scales. This includes taking innovative processes from laboratory proof-of-principle to pilot scale and then to full scale implementation.

Specific outputs required include FEED studies, Basis of Design, Process Description, Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Basis of Safety, Control Philosophy and Hazardous Area calculations, and for the specification of equipment and components.

The role is an opportunity to work in a fast moving and project-based team dedicated to challenging and rewarding process engineering projects.

 

The Candidate

Capable of Independent working and delivering design development and full engineering design packages working from a blank sheet of paper to full plant design.

Confident in developing documentation by liaison with EC&I and mechanical engineering disciplines.

Able to produce and review process diagrams and documentation quickly and accurately.

Excellent presentation skills and comfortable presenting to clients and senior 3rd party representatives.

With excellent attention to detail and clarity in written communication.
