A Management Buy Out of C-Tech Innovation took place on 30th August 2018.
The new team consists of Bob Crawford (MD), John McCarthy (Sales Director) and Rob Bell (Technical Director) took over from the outgoing MD Ged Barlow. Ged was a founder director and MD since the company’s inception in 2001. We retain our focus on creating new industrial processes for clients.
C-Tech Innovation – Management
Our speciality is creating processes that solve demanding client requirements for process and product quality where conventional processes are not sufficient. Our particular technical expertise is electrochemistry and advanced thermal processing.
We work according to our client requirements, carrying out laboratory proof-of-principle studies, design and build of pilot equipment and design and build of production equipment for integration into clients’ facilities.
We have previously worked with international clients across Foods and Drinks, Pharma, Fine Chemicals and Chemicals, Materials, Waste Recovery.

Our New Management Team:
Managing Director – Bob Crawford:
Bob joined the company in 2013 from Unilever R&D before taking over as MD in August 2018. Bob is specialist at the development of technology for commercial application. He trained as a chemist then worked as chemical product formulator and process technology developer.
He specialised in collaborative technology development in market development projects. Bob has a degree and PhD in Chemistry, a degree in Mathematics, a graduate certificate in Sustainable Business, over thirty patents and many launched products to his name.

Technical Director – Dr Robert Bell:
Rob joined the company in 2005 and became the Technical Director in 2015. Rob has a wide experience of process technology development and is expert at the evaluation of process technologies. He has worked on materials and process development in nuclear, aerospace, chemical, foods, pharma, energy storage and materials recovery sectors. He is expert in collaborative working between companies.
Rob leads the Chemical, Mechanical and Electrical Design Team for the company, taking processes from the bench top to pilot scale and then to production scale equipment design and build. Rob has overseen the design of the company’s product range based on our core electrochemical and thermal technologies. Rob has a degree in Metallurgy and an EngD in materials for high performance applications in aerospace and related technologies.
Sales Director – John McCarthy:
John is the company’s Sales Director, joining in 2015 with a background in chemistry and industrial processes. John will continue to be the point of call for access to our product sales and bespoke developments.
