A Management Buy Out of C-Tech Innovation took place on 30th August 2018.

The new team consists of Bob Crawford (MD), John McCarthy (Sales Director) and Rob Bell (Technical Director) took over from the outgoing MD Ged Barlow. Ged was a founder director and MD since the company’s inception in 2001. We retain our focus on creating new industrial processes for clients.

C-Tech Innovation is based in Capenhurst Technology Park in Chester, UK; a hub for innovative energy companies. As a full-service product development enterprise we integrate a number of different possibilities for research, design, testing, development, and production.

Facilities available for testing and research include:

  • A microwave-assisted rotary kiln, for calcining and other heat treatment of minerals
  • A radio frequency press, for forming and curing of RF-sensitive plastics and other materials
  • An atmospheric plasma generator, for surface modification of various materials

Supporting STEMNET in the North West

C-Tech Innovation is proud to be supporting STEMNET, the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths Network. STEMNET is an educational charity that encourages pupils to participate in science and engineering-based subjects and to remain in the field for further education and eventually for work. STEMNET ambassadors are people in academia and industry working in STEM fields who volunteer to share their time and expertise with schoolchildren.

Joined-up Thinking for Real-time Pollution Monitoring

With much of England, Wales, and Ireland experiencing moderate to high levels of air pollution, it’s time to take a serious look at how we can minimise the impact that poor air quality has on us. An estimated 29,000 people a year die in the UK alone from the long-term effects of air pollution. Dr Sotiris Vardoulakis, the head of Air Pollution and Climate Change at Public Health England, says “measures that significantly reduce particulate air pollution or cut exposure would be regarded as important public health initiatives.”
