A Management Buy Out of C-Tech Innovation took place on 30th August 2018.
The new team consists of Bob Crawford (MD), John McCarthy (Sales Director) and Rob Bell (Technical Director) took over from the outgoing MD Ged Barlow. Ged was a founder director and MD since the company’s inception in 2001. We retain our focus on creating new industrial processes for clients.
C-Tech Innovation is based in Capenhurst Technology Park in Chester, UK; a hub for innovative energy companies. As a full-service product development enterprise we integrate a number of different possibilities for research, design, testing, development, and production.
Facilities available for testing and research include:
- A microwave-assisted rotary kiln, for calcining and other heat treatment of minerals
- A radio frequency press, for forming and curing of RF-sensitive plastics and other materials
- An atmospheric plasma generator, for surface modification of various materials

Brompton Washscape is an Innovate UK-funded project to develop an accessible washing machine for people with Assisted Living requirements. C-Tech Innovation is a technical subcontractor for the project, responsible for building the early prototype and, eventually, the finished article. Read More
C-Tech Innovation is proud to be supporting STEMNET, the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths Network. STEMNET is an educational charity that encourages pupils to participate in science and engineering-based subjects and to remain in the field for further education and eventually for work. STEMNET ambassadors are people in academia and industry working in STEM fields who volunteer to share their time and expertise with schoolchildren.
Last week C-Tech’s Director of Research and Innovation, Rob Bell, and Strategic Research Group Manager, Edd Jones, attended Chemistry Means Business at the Royal College of Physicians in London. Billed as the Royal Society of Chemistry’s “first flagship event for the chemistry-using industry,” the day provided an opportunity to present C-Tech’s varied chemical and electrochemical expertise to a knowledgable and enthusiastic audience.
