C-Tech Innovation is experienced in the investigation and development of plasmas in a variety of forms, and has developed an Atmospheric Pressure Non-Equilibrium Plasma ("APNEP"). Our plasma is unique in that it provides some of the highly beneficial processing properties that are normally only provided by vacuum plasmas, yet operates at atmospheric pressure.

The APNEP plasma uses cost effective and commercially available components and almost all gases or gas mixtures can be used as feedstock in this electrodeless design. Compared with conventional atmospheric plasmas, the temperature of the APNEP plasma is considerably lower and it is also significantly non-equilibrium in nature. This means that a greater variety of materials can be treated, including polymers and textiles, in a very short time which enables continuous processing capability as well as batch.
Application to date have included dry degreasing of metals, production of particles, adhesion enhancements of polymers, VOC destruction and coating of polymers and glass. The plasma can be an extremely effective high temperature gas heater, and has great potential as an enhanced chemical reactor. |
