C-Tech Innovation has a impressive track record in the field of infrared heating with research and development spanning over 3 decades, and in particular C-Tech Innovation can advise the best choice of IR emitter for a given application. We can also develop optimum IR oven designs for particular applications by using our specialist modelling software, and can advise about the advantages of combination systems involving IR and other heat sources.

Infra-red (IR) heating is an economic and efficient surface heating technique used for a variety of applications such as surface finishing (paint drying, powder coating), textiles (dye fixation, drying), food processing (cooking, baking) and polymer curing. Infra red systems transfer heat to the product by radiative heating, usually in one of three frequency ranges leading to three categories of IR heating – shortwave, medium wave and long wave.
Each category has a wide range of emitters and wavelengths/frequencies, which is important as the selection of the correct frequency for a particular application is critical. Infra Red adsorption into the product needs to be optimised and so the IR frequency must be chosen carefully in order to provide maximum efficiency.
Infra Red heating can be used in combination with other heating techniques such as microwaves, and such a combination system can often give significant processing advantages. |
