Energy Technologies

It seems like everyone is talking about energy these days and while the motivations may vary (environmental concerns, rising fuel costs or security of supply), the goals do not. Quite simply we need to consume less energy and we need to find alternatives to fossil fuel based technologies.

You will find energy-related ideas running through much of the work we do at C-Tech, anything from clean energy generation, storage and conversion, to ways of minimising and cleaning up waste streams, and more energy efficient processes.

Our Energy Technologies theme refers to energy generation, storage and conversion. We are involved in many key technologies areas including BioEnergy, Energy Storage (Secondary Batteries, Redox Flow Batteries and Hydrogen Storage) and Fuel cells, but this list is far from exhaustive.

We recognise that energy is a diverse technology sector and one in which our flexible and multidisciplinary approach is well suited. Our Energy Team comprises of PhD chemists, electrochemists and biologists as well as highly experienced chemical, mechanical and design engineers.
