Detoxification using nanostructured catalysts

C-Tech Innovation has developed a novel detoxification process based on the combination of advanced nano-structured catalytic surfaces in combination with state-of-the art UV light emitting diodes (LEDs).

An in-house nano-structuring technique using a modified sol-gel process is utilised to deposit titania (TiO2) based nano-catalysts on porous and non-porous substrates such as alumina and cordierite.

The principle applications of this technology are:

• Air purification
• Water treatment and purification

C-Tech is currently developing prototype water and air purifiers using this technology for diverse UK and international applications ranging from the removal of chemical agents from air, and the supply of clean drinking water in water-stressed regions of the world.
